ALTEA

Altea sits on a hill, the top of which is crowned by the Parish Church, decorated with small white tesserae. The magnificent old town centre, with its magnificent ensemble of buildings, gives it a special charm that is unique in the province. We can start our route in the Plaza del Convento to access, via Pont de Moncau, the Vellaguarda neighbourhood. It is a set of steep, narrow cobbled streets with viewpoints and small roundabouts. We arrive at the Plaza, the cultural and leisure centre of Altea, where the Church of the Virgen del Consuelo is located. Its tranquillity and peace and quiet have made Altea a paradise for artists and craftsmen, whose shops and stalls populate the old quarter.

CASTELL DE GUADALEST

One of the most emblematic tourist images of the entire Costa Blanca is in this municipality: the slender free-standing bell tower and the access tunnel to the old town. Both are located on a granite mass of superb beauty. The most unique feature of the town is its urban location, as the old quarter is located at the top of a rocky outcrop that is only accessible through an open cavity in the mountain itself. The whole village is a tourist attraction with its gift and craft shops, the most picturesque museums in the province and magnificent views over the valley and the Guadalest reservoir.
